Literary zine Little Elegy (case study) was a redesign with a twist—the zine’s editor wanted the site to look the same when the project was finished.
Any good designer knows that quality design is about more than making things pretty, it’s about effective problem-solving. In Little Elegy’s case, the problems that needed solving revolved around site maintenance and a an ongoing spam epidemic. There was spam in the editor’s inbox, spam in entries to the online guestbook, and even spam in the results from the site’s own search engine.
